Walk up to the Eiffel tower
Walk up to the Eiffel tower,
Set in a field of concrete
Towers up above you.
After having walked up
all these flights of steps.
What would it be like to jump ?
I have no head for heights,
I think I will go round to
The Boulangerie around the corner
And get some croissants for breakfast.

Fields of France
The fields are a glance with peace
The men sitting around having beef and bread
Knowing this country
Is Being at peace with Oneself.
Looking around at all that is beautiful.

St Petersburgh - Florida
They call it wrinkle city
Full of sunkissed older people.
Soaking up the Florida sun
After years of toil up North
Its full of parks with benches
Where friendly people sit and chat
A harbour full of small boats
For pleasure trips across the keys.
And I wondered
As I sat in wrinkle city
On a beach among the friendly wrinkled folk
If people always smiled here,
Even when it rained.

I remember
In Germany, during the allied occupation, I remember that I was called out of bed, to try and find out what a woman who was sobbing at the door was trying to say. I could not understand her and realised that if adults cried they must have problems too. I then felt some trepidation about growing up; I had previously thought that it would solve all my problems.

Epilogue
Some of the most beautiful people in the world I have ever met have suffered from mental illness.
