Seclusion imposed on a patient can be very distressing and usually is, this treatment in an environment where other patients and staff are free to come and go at their will can also be very humiliating. On top of this situation medication of several types is then forced on to the patient with the explanation of "If they want to be allowed out of seclusion they must accept medical treatment". This is usually the procedure even if the patient has not been aggressive or violent. That behaviour by doctors and staff can only be compared to blackmail, the motive for this treatment is very difficult for the patient to understand and should be for most other people. As a result of this treatment on a patient all sort of difficulties are created, even after being released from a seclusion room.
