Prayers from the heart

REMEMBER, LORD!

Lord, remember all who are single and lonely.
Lord, remember all who cannot sleep,
Do not want to sleep or sleep fitfully.
Lord, remember all people in relationships -
The sacrifices, the getting on together,
The space or lack of it.
Lord, remember all who feel downtrodden,
Victimised or unfairly treated.
Lord, remember all who find no point,
Value or meaning in living.

Finally Lord, remember any who suffer,
No matter what form the suffering takes,
And may it bear fruit
Even if this fruit is unknown to the sufferer
Or known only in hindsight.

THANKS, LORD!

Lord thank you for creating me.
Lord, thank you for spurning my attempted refusals of life.
Lord, thank you even for my weaknesses
Because it is through them that I learn humility,
The need of your grace
And not daring to compare myself to you!

SUICIDE - A CALL FOR COMPASSION!

Lord, remember all those who felt
That they had no-one to turn to
For whatever reason
Like shame, real or imagined
And took their own lives.
Please, please have mercy on them.

Lord, remember all those
Who feel tempted to suicide
And give them a reason to live.
Even if it is the wrong reason,
It can be changed later.
Finally Lord, I thank you that
You see the whole picture.
Teach us not to judge on just a part.
